Project
Kenora Public Works Building
City of Kenora
Design Build
60,000 sq. ft. office space
33,000 sq. ft. garage/storage
The Kenora Public Works building was delivered to the City of Kenora under a design-build contract in collaboration with Dominion Construction, Nelson Architecture, Lavergne Draward & Associates and MCW/AGE. The building consists of a heated storage garage, maintenance garage, shops, stores, offices and related support activities. It is a conventional framed steel building with precast and insulated metal panel walls. Through a collaborative design process the building was constructed at a substantially lower cost than the specified pre-engineered metal building, while providing a substantially lower life cycle cost, lower operation cost, and a greater degree of useability and thermal comfort for its occupants.
